I’m sure we’ve mentioned this before, but we don’t listen to beat-tapes here at Astro Nautico as much as you might assume. Between the amount of submissions we receive, plus the hundreds that flood the internet everyday, there’s definitely an over saturation in the genre today. However, that being said, if it’s done right, it’s done right and I can’t deny the gratification of listening to a great one.
Though I may have slept a bit on this one, these dudes Crakk Nicholson (a collaborative beat project between producers Shy Guy (Texas) and Benjamin Bradley (Toronto/Pittsburgh) ) have put together a really dope tape combining elements from many different styles and eras of hip-hop with a slew of great samples and clips.
Very enjoyable listen – worth a download for anyone with a hunger for some beatsssssssssss
