Astro Nautico @ Free Candy – 8.3.12 (RECAP)

After the wild success of our first Astro Nautico night at FreeCandy on July 6th, there was a considerable amount of pressure on all ends of the second event (last Friday, August 3rd) to come correct again. Thanks to you, the fans, and all of the artists who came out to represent New York sound (lotide, Jacob 2-2, Mess Kid, Dave Q & Falty DL) we think it’s safe to say we (everyone!) accomplished just that.

Literally shaking the foundation of FreeCandy with Tsunami Bass Sound System, Brooklyn came together once again and proved that there is a place for this musical and visual aesthetic on the East Coast – raw, experimental bass-waves surrounded by the love for VHS static and a higher consciousness. Here is a look at how the night went down, with some amazing photography from our friend Lorenna Gomez-Sanchez.

In case you weren’t there to experience the magic with us, we recorded a good portion of the night with Ustream, including the entire sets of Jacob 2-2, Mess Kid, and a large portion of Dave Q & Falty DL’s Hardball b2b set.
